ITINERARY
FIRST DAY:
AIRPORT COLLECTION, TRANSFER TO HOTEL
FIRST DAY AFTERNOON: CITY TOUR: 1:30 PM – 7:00 PM
This tourist circuit is midday. We will pick you up from the hotel or from the Travel office in a transport at 13:15, The first tourist groups to visit will be inside the city of Cusco, having a professional guide will begin the presentation of the temple of
Qoricancha: Located a few meters from the Plaza de Armas, considered the most sacred place by the Incas and all the vast territory of Tawantinsuyo, in which they paid homage to the community of gods and considered children of gods. Nowadays it looks in Santo Domingo Catholic temple on the eternal walls worked in the Inca period.
Sacsayhuaman: Located 2 km north of the city of Cusco, it was a religious center of great importance. Its construction is very peculiar, it is built on huge blocks of limestone joined with absolute precision, it is undoubtedly one of the greatest architectural works of Tahuantinsuyo. Pucapucara: Quechua word that translated into Spanish means “red fort”, is located 6 km from the city of Cusco, fulfilled the function of military control, was also a place of rest for all travelers who passed through the place. This building is composed of walls, stairways, terraces and canals, its construction is rustic.
Tambomachay: It is located about 8 km north of Cusco, Quechua word that translated into Spanish means “resting cave”, because of the architecture and the water sources that it shines, without a doubt it must have been a place destined to the cult of water, since water was considered as a deity symbolizing purity and fertility.
After our tour, we return to the city at approximately 7:30 p.m.
SECOND DAY: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO
05:00 AM. Breakfast at the Hotel After we will start the Ascent by bus approximately 25 minutes to the wonderful Inca MACHUPICCHU citadel, universally known both for its imposing and original remains of the Inca culture and for its incomparable location on the edge of the abyss, in whose bottom the waters flow torrentosas of the Urubamba. We will have the opportunity to appreciate the sunrise and sunrise in Machupicchu then we will visit its main stepped constructions, stairways, temples, towers, the Solar Clock or Intiwatana, platforms, etc. The guided tour of the entire citadel lasts approximately 2:30 hours.
Free time to explore the ruins, as well as ascend to Huayna Picchu. 1:30 hrs approx. Then we will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes where they will have the option of visiting the thermal baths of the area. In the afternoon, return to Cusco.
